Intimate Neighborhood in Renton, WA

When visiting an American Classic Homes model home, what you see is what you get. “We believe in building homes with standard finish packages that are way above par,” says Robert Gladstein, who owns the company along with his brother, Michael, and partner, Sal Cohen. “Our model homes display upgrades that don’t cost extra, and we won’t send you to an offsite design center to up-sell you additional features. We’ve set the benchmark for quality extremely high.” The three have 35 years of combined homebuilding experience in some of the area’s most prestigious neighborhoods. To ensure that the highest standards of excellence are met on each project, Gladstein says they take a hands-on approach, with his brother and Cohen serving as project managers for the neighborhoods. “We only build 20 homes or so a year so that we can take a very personal approach to homebuilding. As project foremen, both Michael and Sal meet one-on-one with the homeowners, even giving out our personal cell phone numbers. We want homeowners to be as happy with the home buying experience as they are with their homes,” he says. This weekend, American Classic Homes unveils its newest collection of homes -- Sunset Crest, a quiet, intimate neighborhood of eight homes in Renton. Exteriors vary and feature design elements such as curved stone entries, brick accents, rich earth tones, or cedar shingles. In addition, some of the homes are in cul de sac or greenbelt settings for added privacy. Interiors have a warm, inviting ambiance and feature slab granite kitchen countertops; generous amounts of white oak hardwood flooring flowing from the foyer to the kitchen; commercial grade Jenn-Air stainless steel appliances. including a six-burner gas stovetop and hooded fan; and slate wrapped fireplaces. In addition, the family rooms and bonus rooms are pre-wired for sound. “I think one of the things people first notice when they visit our homes is the meticulous attention to detail we put into each one. Each window and door is wrapped in wood and on the entire main floor you’ll find 10-inch base boards throughout. It’s a very luxurious look,” says Gladstein. Homeowners can choose from four home designs – the Madison, Roslyn, Dorado and Del Mar. “There are only eight homes in the neighborhood, so it’s nice to be able to offer a range of design choices,” says Gladstein. “You don’t feel like every home mirrors the next.” Both the four-bedroom Rosyln and the five-bedroom Madison plans have three-car tandem garages with extra storage. While the Madison has an upstairs bonus room along with its four bedrooms and master suite, the Roslyn has a private den accessed through French doors off the breakfast nook as well as an upstairs bonus room and utility room. The Del Mar and Dorado plans both have grand entrances, with wide open foyers and soaring two-story ceilings. Adding a touch of elegance, the Dorado’s formal dining room’s ceiling is coffered, and in the Del Mar, a private den tucked in the back of the home has its own bath, providing the perfect guest suite for out-of-town visitors. The neighborhood is located near May Creek Park, as well as downtown Renton, which has been undergoing a cultural renaissance, twice winning the Puget Sound Regional Council’s Vision 2020 award – first in 2000 and again in 2002. And for those commuting for work into downtown Bellevue or Issaquah, easy-on Interstate 405 access shortens drive times. Sunset Crest is one of four American Classic Homes communities on the market today in the Renton Highlands, all located within a mile of each other. Pettet Meadows and Sandy Lane are just a two blocks away and the prestigious Windstone neighborhood is just a mile east. Says Gladstein, “You’re sure to find your perfect fit in one of our four collections available.” Getting there From I-405 take Exit 5 (Sunset) east up the hill approximately two miles. Turn left onto Union Avenue. Turn left onto 19th Street and Sunset Crest is an eighth of a mile ahead on the left. Prices From $589,000 to $649,950. Builder American Classic Homes, LLC.
